Our monthly release is ready and is on its way to Apple for approval. This new release includes a few bug fixes and newly requested  functionality.

  1. 1.First, we’ve included a new fuel conversion calculation.  This feature was requested by a number of aircraft fuelers and pilots who fly international regularly.  It allow you to convert fuel mass and volume and vise versa.

  1. If you click the indicator next to the ‘Fuel Type’ label, you’ll be taken to a screen that allows you to modify the fuel weight.

  2. You can manually enter the weight for each type of fuel or click on the option to have it automatically calculate the weight based on the temperature.  To learn more how that works click here

  1. 2. There was a bug reported on the weight conversion calculation where if you entered an amount greater then 1,000 it erased what you typed and replaced it with a 1.  Actually any time there was a comma in the number, it erased everything after the comma.  This was fixed and the other calculations were checked for this condition.

  1. 3.There was a rounding error in the “heading, ground  speed and wind correction angle” calculation.  This is now fixed.

  1. 4.Several fellow pilots have requested the ability to email METAR reports to their CFI or friends.  You’ll notice a new mail button in the top right corner for the METAR screen.  Clicking this button will open your email program and populate the message with METARS that show on your screen.

  1. 5.The word “braking” on the SNOWTAM/MOTNE decoder was misspelled and is now corrected.

  1. 6. The Pressure Altitude calculation was modified.  Several of you have noticed that the calculation results do not match Sportys E6B or the ASA E6B.  Therefore, I stopped using the formula found here and started to use the formula found here.

As of today, all known issues are resolved.  If you know of any not already corrected please let us know and we’ll address them immediately.
